Phillips RV Park History Phillips
Camp and Sinclair Service was established in 1936. Mobile homes and travel
trailers then began parking on the property. At that time, gas cost $.19
per gallon or $.21 per gallon for ethyl. By 1945 the gas station was removed.
The motel rooms rented for $1.25 per night or $1.50 with linens. The rooms
were heated with coal stoves and water had to be carried to the rooms
because there was no running water.
In the fall of 1947 some of the motel rooms were moved towards the front
of the property. In 1948, the name was changed to Phillips Motel and Trailer
Park. Since then many more trailer spaces have been added and the landscaping
matured. By 1985, the motel rooms were torn down and the name changed
to Phillips RV Park.
Today, Phillips RV Park has 56 full hookup RV spaces. The Phillips family
has always owned and operated the business with a third generation Darla
Phillips/ Carroll is presently managing the park today. Please enjoy
your stay at Phillips RV Park!
